Log huts inaugurated in Tripura to attract tourists

The Government of Tripura has inaugurated 15 Log Huts in Narkelkunja Island in the Dumboor Lake in the state for the tourists.

The new facility is inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the state Dr Manik Saha that would enable the tourists to enjoy night stay for an unique experience.

The Minister for Tourism, Pranajit Singha Roy and Member of Parliament (MP) Rebati Tripura and other dignitaries attended the inaugural ceremony held at Narkelkunja which is one of the most beautiful tourist locations in the state.

Water sports activities and two Banana boats were also launched in the programme.

CM Saha said that the government is sincerely working towards developing all the tourist spots with modern facilities. He added that the new Log Huts would now attract more tourists at Narkelkunja.

He thanked the tourism minister and his team for taking various initiatives to develop the sector. Dr. Saha invited the union ministers to visit Dumboor and Narkelkunja.

The CM informed that around 5 lakh domestic and international tourists visit Tripura every year. He confirmed that initiatives are being taken by the government to attract more tourists.

He said, the state government is working with a special focus on women empowerment; 33 percent reservation for women in jobs is one of the examples.

He also spoke about the major steps taken by the present state government in various fields including healthcare and employment. The Chief Minister said, the government would reach out the people with the report card of 100-day works.

The Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Parimal Debbarma, Member of District Council (MDC) Bhumikananda Reang, police and administrative officials of Dhalai district and others were present in the programme.
