Guwahati: The Guwahati Railway station has added a new addition - an executive lounge on the ground floor - of platform number 1.

The new executive lounge can seat 92 persons at once and will provide superior facilities for passengers waiting for trains, a spokesperson for the NF Railway (NFR) said.

The official added that the new executive lounge is equipped with "air-conditioners, sofa sets, LED television with a music system, a travel desk, Wi-Fi, a mini-cloak room, beverage-cum-snacks stalls and more."

"We have developed such executive lounges at various railway stations throughout the zone to let the national and domestic travellers spend their waiting time comfortably with quality" the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson assured that passengers will experience airport-like-lounge facilities at a "minimal charge" of Rs 30 for the first hour with Rs 20 to be charged for each additional hour spent at the facility.

"Travellers can get a paid bath and change facility, breakfast, lunch, and dinner here", the NFR spokesperson said, adding, "With these newly added facilities, the station has added another feather in its cap of providing world class facilities to passengers."
