NHPC signs MoU with IIRM for livelihood enhancement in Arunachal Pradesh.

The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC) under its Corporate Social Responsitbility (CSR) Program through Institute of integrated Resource Management is providing 90 female and 30 male piglets covering 30 women members in Dollungmukh circle in Kamle District.

The initiative in Skill Development and Livelihood Enhancement was undertaken as part of CSR and SD Policy of NHPC.

The MoU is signed in presence of Director of Projects, NHPC Biswajit Basu and the Executive Director, Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project Vipin Gupta and under senior officials.

NHPC along with this is also providing feeder and water drinkers along with feed for 6 months.

Insurance coverage as well as timely medicine for piglets is also made available for the members.

Training and capacity building along with skill upgradation is also part of the project as decided.

NHPC envisions to cover all the families in this circle to promote piggery and enhancement of income among the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

A trained veterinary worker has also been deployed to assist in “vaccination training and medical care of the piglets.

Business Northeast spoke to the founder of IIRM, Dr. Dhatatrreyah Hosagrahar who consider this MoU as “A great recognition for our work. Yes will work smart to keep their trust high ever’.

The Institute of Integrated Resource Management was incorporated in the year 2000 with an aim to upscale and develop innovative strategies for sustainable economic and socio-cultural development of the people residing in the Himalayan Region.

The NHPC has implemented a number of CSR initiatives for the community living in and around its Projects/ Power Stations/ Units in the areas of Education, Health, Sanitation, Rural, Development , Skill Development, Environment Sustainability, Women Empowerment, Promotion of Sports, Art and Culture, etc.

The NHPC Limited has become the largest organisation for hydropower development in India, with capabilities to undertake all the activities from conceptualization to commissioning in relation to setting up of hydro projects.

Arunachal Pradesh is India’s remotest state and the first Indian soil to greet the rising sun. It is located in the northeastern tip of India with its borders touching China, Bhutan and Myanmar.
