Northeast’s second Integrated Aqua Park to come up in Tripura, Centre sanctions Rs 42.39 crore

Agartala: The Central government has sanctioned Rs 132.50 Crores for a number of project under the Fishery department including setting up Northeast’s second integrated Aqua Park (IAP) in Kailashahar Sub-Division under Unakoti District of Tripura.

The first IAP was set up in Arunachal Pradesh.

Speaking with Business North East, The Fishery Minister of Tripura, Sudhangshu Das said that department of Fisheries of the state government submitted a proposal to Govt. of India (GoI) for sanction of Rs. 99.99 crore for establishment of integrated Aqua Park (IAP) in Satero Miyan Haur of Kailashahar Sub-Division under Unakoti District.

“In response Gol has sanctioned Rs. 42.3994 Crore (Central Share(90%): Rs. 38.1595 Crore & State Share: Rs. 4.2399 Crore.) in first phase for implementation of the said project under Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) during the year 2023-24”, he said.

The Minister said that this project would implement covering 115.83 acre land in Satero Miyan Haur Area.

He further informed that another additional project was also submitted to GoI for distribution of 100 numbers of fish kiosks, 100 numbers of Matsya Vaahini (Eco Friendly Moveble Fish Kiosks) and 100 numbers Matsya E-Rickhaw to the unemployed youths during the year 2023-24 to make themselves Atmanirbhar.

“Total project cost was Rs 22 crore. In response Gol has sanctioned Rs. 3.40 Crore (Central Share(90%): Rs. 3.06 Crore and State Share: Rs. 0.34 Crore.) in first phase for implementation of the said project under Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) during the year 2023-24”, said Das.

Moreover, in response to State Government’s proposal, Centre has also approved Rs. 86.7017 crore as total project cost for implementation of 14 nos. activities under PMMSY during the year 2023-24.

Out of the total project cost Gol sanctioned Rs. 43.2965 Crore as Central Share, Rs. 4.941 crore as State Share and Rs. 38.4642 crore as Beneficiary Share. GoI has released an amount of Rs. 15.00 crore as Central Share for implementation of these 14 no. activities.

“Thus, during the year 2023-24 under PMMSY, Centre has totally sanctioned an amount of Rs. 132.5011 crore (Central Share: Rs. 84.516 crore, State Share: Rs. 9.5209 crore and Beneficiary Share: Rs. 38.4642 crore) for implementation of sanctioned activities”, he added.
