PM Modi to inaugurate Tripura’s third ICP in Sabroom on March 9

Agartala: In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to virtually inaugurate the third Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Sabroom, South District of Tripura, on March 9. This marks a groundbreaking achievement for the region.

The inauguration of the Sabroom ICP will add to Tripura's infrastructure, with two existing ICPs at Agartala-Akahura in Agartala, West District, and Srimantapur in Sonamura, Sepahijala District. The Sabroom ICP is strategically located near the Indo-Bangladesh Maitri Setu.

Sources within the Tripura government have revealed that a preliminary meeting has taken place to coordinate the inauguration event. "PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a series of programs in the Northeast, and as part of his visit, he will virtually inaugurate the Integrated Check Post near the Indo-Bangladesh Maitri Setu at Sabroom in the South District on March 9. Further details are awaited," stated the source.

The inauguration ceremony is expected to witness the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament including Rebati Tripura and Biplab Kumar Deb, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik, Chief Secretary of Tripura JK Sinha, and Aditya Mishra, Chairman of the Land Ports Authority of India. This development signifies the government's commitment to enhancing connectivity and trade facilitation in the region.
