Poultry farming training for rural women aims at sustainable livelihood

Guwahati: Drishtee Foundation in collaboration with Engagedly is organising three training sessions on poultry farming for rural women entrepreneurs of Assam.

The three-day training programme from May 23-25 is aimed at helping these women acquire new skills and create a sustainable livelihood for themselves.

It focuses on providing sessions conducted by trainers who will teach the participants about poultry farming and address the challenges they may face while adopting this new way of earning a livelihood.

The programme comprises 30 women from various regions of Assam who are already engaged in micro enterprises.
Engagedly Software India Private Ltd, as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, is supporting this training initiative hosted by Drishtee Foundation, an NGO based in Guwahati, Assam. By offering such training programs, the aim is to empower rural communities, particularly women, and help them meet their daily needs while becoming self-reliant.

Poultry farming

In addition to the workshop sessions, the training programme includes an orientation session, field visits, and advanced level discussions. These activities will further educate the participants about the various challenges involved in poultry farming and provide them with practical knowledge.

The participants have expressed their enthusiasm for this type of training, recognising it as a means for empowerment and self-reliance.
