Three companies- Ev-booth (Charging Ride Technologies Pvt. Ltd.), Loadshare Networks and Bikozee have announced plans to change the EV ecosystem in North East by providing more charging stations in Guwahati and the rest of the region.

According to an independent study by Centre for Energy Finance, the EV market in India will be a $206 billion opportunity by 2030 if India maintains steady progress to meet its 2030 target. This would require cumulative investment of over $180 billion in vehicle production and charging infrastructure.

Another report by India Energy Storage Alliance projects that the Indian EV market will grow at a CAGR of 36 per cent till 2026.

With focus to make Assam and whole of North East EV ready Ravi Bora founder and CEO of EV-Booth, along with Mr. Biman Debnath, Director Operations Loadshare Networks and Mr. Sumit Das, Founder Bikozee, today announced the plans of three companies for next 1 year on their plans to change the EV ecosystem in North East.

"Based on the average population of Northeast, Guwahati has a larger population than the other cities, and therefore has a significant market potential for new electric vehicles. Particularly in the logistics sector, where there are now over 10,000 working vehicles that may be replaced with EV to significantly advance environmental development.", says Sumit Das.

He also mentioned, "the OLA EV Bikes fire accident as one factor that contributed to some of the mistrust against electric vehicles. It did impede progress, but because of new rules and government incentives, we are moving toward systemic transformation. "

Government of India has created momentum through its Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles (FAME) schemes that encourage, and in some segments mandates the adoption of electric vehicles (EV), with a goal of reaching 30% EV penetration by 2030.

Northeast is the fastest developing region and Ev-booth is already Northeast India’s biggest charge point operator with over 80 plus installation in Guwahati and 100 plus across Assam, while Loadshare Networks is one of the largest logistics service provider in the region with over 200 Logistic Hubs across north east and Bikozee, is an electric mobility as a service startup, Currently operating with a fleet of 100% emission free vehicles in Guwahati.

Ravi Bora says one of the biggest challenges for faster adoption of electric vehicle is the lack of charging infrastructure, range anxiety and the idea of getting stranded on the road while driving an electric vehicle is one thing that bothers every EV drivers.

EVs require a dedicated charger for users to charge and for people to be comfortable with the idea of switching to electric vehicle they need to be sure that there are enough chargers in their city & they will never have to push their vehicle home.

For these users the first problem is not how fast they can charge but the first problem is where they can charge in case of an emergency. Whether they go to their office or to a mall or for a movie or simply a picnic with their family they don't want their day to be spoiled by their vehicle running out of charge.

"We at EV booth are on a mission to make sure that none of our customer ever has to face these problems" Bora said.

“Our AC all in one smart charges are perfect solution to deploy, for both private or public " he said.

"Cost of one of these charges starts from as low as Rs 4999/- and the cost involved for host is very low as they do not need to invest on upgrading their existing Infrastructure, thus does giving them a very good return on investment" he said.

In the short span of 4 months EV booth has been able to cover 80 plus location in Guwahati and 100 plus across Assam. EV booth is the first to partner with GMDA to install chargers in 7 of their premium parking and have presence in locations like Novotel Guwahati, Hotel Palacio, Central Mall, Shristrinagar: North east India’s first integrated township, and many boutique hotels like Zen Garden, Hotel Parnil, Hotel SunView and cafes like Hideout Café, Kaffine Klub to just name a few.

"We plan to install 400 plus chargers in Guwahati alone and over 2000 plus chargers in northeast by the end of this financial year. In phase one we are creating a robust network of AC chargers across Guwahati and starting September we will start installing 7.2kW DC fast chargers" Bora said.

Ev-booth is pleased to announce that we have partnered with LoadShare one of India's leading logistic company to make their 200 plus logistic hubs across North East EV Ready. In next few months Ev-booth will be installing around 600 charges across the different hubs of LoadShare in northeast to help them transition to electric vehicles.

EV-booth is also proud to partner with one of Assam start-up’s cohort Bikozee to provide them the charging infrastructure across Assam.

EV-booth also announced the launch of its EV-booth club which along with our ecosystem partners organizes multiple meet ups throughout the months to speak to riders, vendors and OEMs and other stakeholders from EV ecosystem and create awareness, and talk about benefits of migrating to EV. In a first of its kind initiative in India, EV-Booth Club not only
works in promoting EVs but also is working closely with logistics partners to provide them EV Trained Riders.
