Guwahati: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has devised strategies to address the twin concerns of rising input costs and market price volatility by using a variety of steps to improve its operations and product portfolio.

During FY'22, the firm achieved its best-ever performance in production and sales, as well as an all-time high revenue from operations of Rs.1,03,473 Crore.

"This record-breaking success in FY '22 is the product of organisational synergy. However, the fourth quarter was not completely immune to the exceptional growth in input prices, particularly the price increase of imported coking coal for a variety of reasons. Despite the problems, the company has taken various proactive initiatives to reduce expenses, which was stated in a statement.

The company stated that the success, which is supported by an increase in steel demand and a favourable business outlook, is the result of joint and concerted efforts to enhance production and techno-economic parameters while capturing market possibilities.

In FY'22, the organisation was the top buyer on the Government e-Marketplace among all central public sector undertakings.

It delivered about 1.3 lakh tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen, primarily during the second wave of CoVID-19. Its plants established separate Jumbo CoVID Care facilities, increasing the number of CoVID-19 devoted beds.
